  2. Wren.
WOW. WOW. WOW. Im glad I had something to do with gettin you to do some watercolor figures. Your right, these are not as "clean" as mine....they are waaaaay more expressive! I really love them. Nice honest, spontanious studies of light on anatomy. The one in the middle is a wonderful composition, even love the abstract shapes in the top right. You trying to keep up with me? SHEEESH, your KILLIN it!

Ive got a date with my wife tonight, but after that Im back in the lab! Gonna show you somethin real soon!

    Thanks for exciting me!
    Cheers from Vancouver,
    Jesse

  3. And a technical question if you dont mind:

In the middle composition the bg is a lovely wash of what looks like cobalt blue and burnt sienna. You did that wet on wet right? As apposed to a second pass of colour over dry colour?

  4. Can't thank you guys enough for checking out what's been happening lately and being so kind. In doing 15 minute poses - believe me, I had go get a lot of bad ones out of the way before a few nice ones popped out. Jesse, the background washes are a wet on wet mix of cerulean and permanent orange. There are two colors I've been using that have an amazing granulating texture - cerulean and veridian. I've been playing with using these to get abstract, textured backgrounds - a trick I picked up from my mentor - Mr. Reardon. If you haven't checked out his blog lately, you have to see these paintings he's done of Kashmir - they'll make your eyes bleed they're so good.
